Linocut Fundamentals and Reduction Printing

Learn the Essentials of Creative Linoleum Block Printmaking

This is my newest online linocut course - a follow up to my popular How to Linocut and How to Make a Reduction Print classes!

Here's what you'll learn in this new easy to follow online block printing class:

  • My step-by-step process will take you from idea to final print.
  • Don't know what supplies you need to buy? No problem, I'll tell you what to get and where to buy them.
  • I'll also show you techniques for safe and creative carving.
  • I'll teach you how to make a multi-color print using the reduction print technique.
  • You can print your block at home - no printing press needed.

This workshop will give you a comprehensive introduction to relief printing with linoleum. At the same time, you'll learn how to make reduction prints. This is an intermediate relief printing technique for making multi-color prints from one linoleum block - it's one of my favorite printmaking methods! No prior printmaking experience is necessary.

All the information you'll need to make a print is in this straightforward course, which will save you time from sorting through Google search results, Instagram posts and YouTube videos. Plus, there's definitely one thing that sets my course apart from what you find via Google...

I'm available via email to answer any questions you might have, one-on-one.

I filmed the video lessons in my printmaking studio. It's a completely self-paced distance learning course and you can start anytime.

Included bonuses...

  • A simple print design for beginners that you're welcome to download and use.
  • A downloadable sample of 25 linocut patterns.

By the end of this course, through practice, you'll discover your own style and be making your own awesome prints!

I'm Rich, a printmaker, linocut artist, and travel junkie, from the San Francisco Bay Area. The process of carving a block and then experimenting while printing got me hooked on printmaking almost ten years ago. I love the anticipation of peeling the paper off an inked block – revealing the good, the bad and the ugly. I put out my artwork under the studio name, Boarding All Rows. I'm a member of the California Society of Printmakers and my work has been used internationally as book cover art, on the set of a major TV production and can be found in private residences around North America, Europe and Australia.
